The trial of Jerry Wayne Walker, who faces multiple charges in connection to a fatal 1998 Murray State University dorm fire, is set to begin July 9th. 

Internet service problems have plagued our region for just over a week now, and as inconvenient as it is for most of us, imagine heading up one of our area’s libraries just as the Commonwealth’s new e-book lending program, Kentucky Unbound rolls out.  

Going to the movies is one those experiences that everyone should be able to enjoy. You’ve got your popcorn, candy, and an icy Coke. The lights dim, and for the next two hours, you’re in another world. But for some with disabilities, like autism or epilepsy, going to the movies can be almost impossible. Movie theaters all over the country, though, are taking steps to change that. Even here in Murray, the Cheri Theaters have started playing movies that are sensory friendly for children. 

A McCracken County grand jury returned an 11-count indictment this afternoon against Dr. Troy Nelson of Paducah. 

Governor Steve Beshear has signed legislation requiring vehicles carrying 15 passengers or less to be equipped with seat belts and passengers must wear them.
