WKMS and Murray State University’s Teacher Quality Institute have teamed up for the sixth year of a special project during April, National Poetry Month. WKMS broadcasts Poetry Minutes showcasing original poems by students in grades 3 – 12 from schools throughout the region. Poetry Minutes air at 7:19 a.m., 11:40 a.m. and 4:19 p.m. weekdays through April 30.
Murray, KY. WKMS presents our “First Ever Sounds Good Singer-Songwriter Invitational” and the winning songwriter has his/her original song aired on WKMS and receives a pair of tickets to hear Bob Dylan and His Band in concert in Murray on April 27.
UPDATE: Congratulations to Becca Kilby, winner of the WKMS Sounds Good Singer/Songwriter Invitational! With roughly 340 votes tallied, she's going to the Dylan concert having received 160 votes. Murray, KY. Murray State’s NPR station, 91.3 WKMS is engaging listeners in the first fundraiser of 2013. The on-air portion of the fund drive begins March 6 and continues through March 16 with special guests and gifts.
WKMS Membership Coordinator Jenni Todd says, “Listeners who get in touch with us, with or without a commitment, by March 5 are included in an iPad Mini Giveaway on March 6.”
