Murray, KY – Director Gus Van Zant doesn't shy away from controversy. His new, Oscar-nominated film "Milk" isn't exceptional in that regard, but it is unusual in that it's his first biographical film. And its stars, Sean Penn and Josh Brolin, provide powerful performances as San Francisco's first openly gay city supervisor and the political opponent whose fall leads him to murder. Todd Hatton spoke with Larry Thomas about the film, on offer this week at Maiden Alley Cinema in Paducah.
