Owensboro is now a part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. O.Z. Tyler has become the 11th distillery to join the prestigious organization.
Last year, an estimated one-point-two million people visited the 23 distilleries that are part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and Kentucky Bourbon Craft Trail.
The Messenger-Inquirer reports O.Z. Tyler plans to increase their annual production capacity by 25-thousand barrels.
More than half of the whiskey made at the Owensboro distillery goes overseas.
An American white oak was planted at the distillery during a ceremony this week to commemorate O.Z. Tyler’s addition to the Bourbon Trail.
Bourbon is an $8.5 billion industry in the state.
