The Columbia Theatre in Paducah has received a $10,000 dollar grant to repair its roof.
According to a release, the contribution comes from the Linda And Jerry Bruckheimer Preservation Fund for Kentucky which goes towards preserving historic buildings throughout the state.
Paducah Art House Alliance Board Chair Darlene Mazzone in the release said work is being done on both the roof and restoring one set of front doors.
The Columbia Theatre opened in 1927 and closed in 1985.
The entire restoration project will cost an estimated $5.8 million dollars.
