Trigg County Hospital is receiving more than $155,000 through a Delta Regional Authority investment, funding construction of a hallway and four new private patient rooms.
The rooms will be used in the ‘swing-bed program’ that allows patients to recover in hospital rather than returning to home care too soon or transferring to a nursing home after acute care.
Swing beds allow physicians to “swing" inpatient care from acute to skilled. Skilled care includes specialized wound care, IV therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation.
The investment was made through the D-R-A’s States’ Economic Development Assistance Program.
