Following Murray State Provost Dr. Jay Morgan’s appointment to a position with the Council on Postsecondary Education,MSU President Dr. Bob Davies has tapped Dr. Tim Todd to replace Morgan on an interim basis, beginning July 1st

Dr. Todd joined the Murray State faculty in 1995, rising to Assistant Provost in 1998 and Associate Provost in 2002.  Since 2006, Todd has served as dean of MSU’s Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business.

President Davies says he has found Dr. Todd to be “stalwart advocate for Murray State, our faculty, staff and students, as well as the community.”  Davies says Todd will soon announce an interim dean of the Bauernfeind College of Business, and that he will begin assembling a search committee for a permanent Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs this summer with a national search to begin in the fall.

Todd Hatton hails from Paducah, Kentucky, where he got into radio under the auspices of the late, great John Stewart of WKYX while a student at Paducah Community College. He also worked at WKMS in the reel-to-reel tape days of the early 1990s before running off first to San Francisco, then Orlando in search of something to do when he grew up. He received his MFA in Creative Writing at Murray State University. He vigorously resists adulthood and watches his wife, Angela Hatton, save the world one plastic bottle at a time.
