Seventeen trail projects across Kentucky will receive more than $1 million dollars in funding from the state's Recreational Trail Program.
Governor Steve Beshear says those grants should help bolster local economies with additional tourism dollars.
Regional counties receiving funds include:
- Hopkins - $100,000 for the Barnsley Landfill ATV Trail Project. Another $100,000 for the city of Madisonville's Mahr Park Trail Project
- Livingston - $25,330 for Phase 3 of the Livingston County Trail Project
- Muhlenburg - $67,700 for Central City's Lu-Ray Park Trail Project
Earlier this fall, Beshear announced another $80,000 in aid for a connecting trail between Dawson Springs and the Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park.
