Christian County Chamber of Commerce President Carter Hendricks says he will run for mayor of Hopkinsville next year.
Hendricks announced in September that he would step down from his position with the chamber to pursue other opportunities. His resignation, previously set for March, will now be effective Jan. 10, 2014 as he prepares for the mayoral election.
Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp announced last month that he would not seek a third term.
The base salary for the position is currently just under $68,000, based on the city’s fiscal year budget.
