April Fools: Rand Paul Isn't Endorsing Donald Trump and Jim Gray Isn't Running for President

Both Republican Senator Rand Paul and one of his Democratic challengers offered April Fools jokes Friday.

Paul’s came in the form of a fake Donald Trump presidential endorsement. He tweeted several times Thursday indicating he had a “yuge” announcement to make, but then Friday revealed it was a joke with the hashtag “endorsingentropy”.

Meanwhile Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, who is running for the Democratic nomination for Paul’s seat, issued a news release saying he will run for president in 2020, lampooning Paul’s failed bid for the White House.

"Gray urges Kentuckians to support him for Senate in November," the release read. "Remember, Kentucky will never have a president unless voters give him a Senate seat as a stepping-stone."
