Westerfield on ‘Antagonism’ Between Governor and Attorney General

LRC Public Information

A Christian County lawmaker says it’s unfortunate that the relationship between the Governor and Attorney General is off to such a bad start.

Republican Senator Whitney Westerfield of Hopkinsville says he wishes the two sides could find some areas of agreement. "I'm sure it'll sort itself out. I guess the biggest disappointment is that we now see this antagonism between the Attorney General and the Bevin administration. It'd be nice if they'd work in concert," Westerfield says.

In less than five months after being sworn into office, the Attorney General has sued the Governor, and Bevin has launched an investigation into alleged corruption involving the AG’s father, former Governor Steve Beshear.
