ER Physician To Head Kentucky's Dept. Of Public Health

Dr. Steven Stack has been named commissioner of Kentucky's Department for Public Health.

Stack is an emergency physician at Saint Joseph Hospital East in Lexington. He has also worked at other Kentucky hospitals and in Tennessee and Ohio. He is also a former president of the American Medical Association.

Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services Acting Secretary Eric Friedlander said in a release that Stack will be a leader of the entire state public health system and help make resources and care more accessible.

Stack will begin on Feb. 10.
