Murray, KY – Land promised for a new park in the southwest part of Calloway County has now been revoked. Director of Parks Matthew Martin says for two years the local government had planned to build a park and walking trail on a site donated by landowner Tony Waller. After a series of negotiations, Waller decided to neither donate nor sell the land, leaving the Parks and Recreation Board of Directors looking for a new site. Martin says the board will continue looking for a 10 to 20 acre plot large enough to accommodate a park and possibly a sports complex in the future. He says the loss is merely an obstacle and that the project will still be completed.
