Bowling Green, KY – Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell says Congress should start over on health care legislation, and says the president should consider canceling future stimulus funding.
On foreign policy, the Kentucky lawmaker says he hopes President Obama will "stay the course" in Afghanistan. McConnell's remarks at Western Kentucky University yesterday were part of the school's Constitution Week celebration.
The Daily News in Bowling Green reports that McConnell said Congress is moving too quickly on a health care overhaul and should instead "stop and start over."
Asked about the national debt, McConnell said instead of rushing through new spending, the president should consider canceling stimulus funding.
