Springfield, IL – One skirmish in the battle for Illinois governor will take place in a state Senate committee. Democrats plan to hear budget ideas today they say are backed by Republican candidate for Governor Bill Brady. Those ideas include 10% across-the-board cuts. The Democrats are likely to focus on the service cuts that would be required, part of an effort to portray Brady as too extreme and to build support for other budget ideas. Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn wants to cut spending but also raise income taxes.
