Tennessee – Tennessee residents can get a tax break on certain purchases related to the May flooding. But the items must be bought by the end of this month. Individuals receiving FEMA disaster flood-related assistance may request a Tennessee sales tax refund on eligible items bought between May 1 and September 30. Eligible items include major appliances and residential furniture valued under $3,200, and building supplies used for restoration valued under $500 per item. Qualified individuals must submit receipts and provide documentation verifying the assistance they received from FEMA. November 30 is the deadline to file.
