Paducah, KY – Paducah's sixteenth annual Barbeque on the River starts today and runs through Saturday night. Organizers say the festival's expected 50,000 visitors will eat some 60 tons of smoked pork and chicken. Several downtown streets will be closed including Water, Second and parts of Kentucky Avenue. The Paducah Sun reports some new cooking teams are participating this year and the festival could raise as much as $400,000 in charitable fundraising.
