Kentucky – The Associated Press is reporting former President Bill Clinton may come to the Commonwealth and campaign for U.S. Senate candidate Jack Conway. Jerry Lundergan, a former head of Kentucky's Democrats, says the details are still being worked out. Lundergan is a close friend of the Clintons. Wednesday in Richmond, Jack Conway praised the former president.
"I admire Bill Clinton greatly, and I think he was a heck of a president. He actually left us with not only a balanced budget but surpluses when he left office. I hear his message and I agree with it."
Bill Clinton carried Kentucky twice in serving two terms in the White House, and his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton bested Barack Obama in Kentucky's 2008 Democratic primary.
