Murray, KY – Republican and Democratic supporters turned out at a rally for Republican U. S. Senate candidate Rand Paul in Murray yesterday. Ahead of speeches by GOP leaders, Murray State University student Dylan Gerlach said he feels like Paul represents small towns and small businesses.
"I think he seems more like an average American. With the tea party movement you just more people who are more like us, and that's what we want to see in Washington. We don't want the elitism that's been going on. We want to get rid of the people who are corrupt".
Other supporters say they like Paul's stand on reducing taxes. Those at the rally who support Jack Conway for Senate said they didn't expect to change their vote, but they wanted to hear from the other side. Conway plans a campaign stop in Hopkinsville later this afternoon.
