Christian County, KY – Christian County's Lacy Elementary School is Kentucky's 2010 National Title 1 Distinguished School. The National Title 1 program promotes high achievement goals for all socio-economic groups. School spokesperson Regan Huneycutt says the school received the honor because of its commitment to closing the achievement gap between student groups during the 2009-2010 school year. Lacy Elementary students increased performance on Core Content exams last year by 17.5 points, bringing the school's academic index to 99.2 percent.
