Louisville, KY – A former volunteer with Rand Paul's Senate campaign will return to court next month after officials postponed his pretrial hearing on a misdemeanor assault charge. Tim Profitt is now scheduled for a pretrial hearing in Fayette District court January 11. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the Tuesday hearing was put off to gather more information. The videotaped incident, which went viral online, shows Profitt pulling down, and stepping on an activist outside the final debate between Paul and Democrat Jack Conway. If convicted, Profitt could face 90 days to a year in jail.
