Murray, KY – A judge plans to make a decision on whether to allow betting on Kentucky horse races that have already run. Franklin Circuit Court Judge Thomas Wingate plans to issue his opinion before the end of the year. The conservative advocacy group Family Foundation argues that such betting is illegal. Representatives say it is the same as video slot machines. But many other groups, including eight state horse tracks, say the practice would improve purses.
