Murray, KY – The Murray Police Department has a new K-9 unit thanks in great part to a local businessman's donation. Chuck Jones donated $10,000 toward purchasing and training the new dog, Tiko, a Belgian Malinois who replaces the department's last dog, Nero, after it unexpectedly died in August after serving the city for seven years. The Murray Ledger reports Tiko is a dual-purpose dog that can detect narcotics, as well as track and apprehend people who try to escape law enforcement on foot.
