Bill to Create Tracking System for Cold Medicine in Tennessee

Nashville, TN – Tennessee lawmakers introduced a bill today they hope would curtail the production of methamphetamine through the use of an electronic tracking system. The plan would use a statewide electronic logbook to stop illicit purchases of over-the-counter cold and allergy products containing pseudoephedrine. Lawmakers say many pharmacies and retailers currently rely on handwritten, paper logbooks to track purchases.
