Kentucky lawmakers threaten to boot the EPA

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Lawmakers are threatening to give the US Environmental Protection Agency the boot. Today Senate Energy and Environment Committee Chairman Brandon Smith said the EPA's actions threaten the economic security of Kentucky and put thousands of jobs at risk. Smith is sponsoring a legislative proposal to make Kentucky a "sanctuary state" out of the reach of the EPA. Smith, whose district covers Kentucky's coalfields, says his committee may vote on the proposal tomorrow.
