Frankfort, KY – Officials who deliver emergency information are conducting a tornado warning test on Tuesday and encourage individuals and workplaces to practice their safety drill at the same time. The test will sound warning sirens across Kentucky, weather alert radios will activate and television and radio stations will broadcast the alert at approximately 10:07 a.m. EST. Meanwhile schools may use the time to conduct their annual tornado drill as well. Emergency officials recommend having a plan in place in case of a tornado warning and say a shelter should be designated in an interior room on the lowest level of a building, away from windows.
