Surrounding PGDP Area Could Become Hunting Grounds

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – Some thousand acres surrounding the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant could be opened up for public use. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Department of Energy and USEC officials are discussing the possibility while reviewing safety regulations to open access for recreational and hunting activities. DOE site lead Reinhard Knerr tells the Paducah Sun some of the proposed changes included allowing small game hunting with guns, nature hikes, horseback riding and mountain biking. He says the idea was generated from public feedback at a recent DOE informational meeting.
