Metropolis, IL – Honeywell corporation and the United Steel Workers union at Metropolis failed to reach a compromise during resumed bargaining yesterday. Negotiations continue this afternoon. Statements from both sides say they are continuing good dialogues, which began at the last negotiation session in February. Honeywell spokesman Peter Dalpe says the company gave the union an updated version of its comprehensive settlement proposals, incorporating changes made after the last session. The talks have been ongoing for nearly nine months, since union members stopped work in June.
