Injuries Reported from Storm

By Angela Hatton

Murray, KY – At least ten people were hurt during severe storms Monday. Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham says seven had minor injuries after a possible tornado struck the T-Gask plant near Pembroke. Graham says the building had around 120 people in it at the time. "It appears to be tornadic in nature, and also some other areas around it. Homes with minor damage, barns, and workshops and that kind of thing out in the county." National Weather Service representatives say 2 tornadoes touched down in Ballard County. One touched down 4 miles northeast of Wickliffe with peak winds of 90 miles an hour, leveling two barns and bringing down trees. No injuries were reported. The second occurred southeast of Kevil, peaking at 120 miles per hour and causing damage to several structures in the area. No fatalities were reported. One man was trapped under a collapsed barn and was later rescued. In Muhlenberg County, severe winds damaged and partially destroyed a trailer park west of Greenville. Two residents suffered minor injuries.
