Murray, KY – Murray and the surrounding community follows Paducah and Marshall County as communities in far western Kentucky that have AT&T 3G coverage. The system went up last night. Regional Manager Sim Davenport mad the official announcement this morning. Davenport answered complaints that Murray wasn't added more quickly to the 3G network.
"It's just a lot of factors that go into deploying a network like this. Regulatory factors, investment factors, people, the existing network that is in place. So all I can tell you is that when you put all those factors together, we're getting it into Murray now. But it just takes a little bit longer than most people, I think, want."
Murray State Technology Systems Management Director Dr. James Gantt says the new network will increase commerce. He says the increased access will also bring more businesses to Murray, and provide more jobs for graduating technology students.
