Murray, Ky. – Murray State students will likely face a tuition increase next year. Kentucky's Council on Postsecondary Education sets the maximum limits next week. A four percent limit is proposed for community colleges. Regional universities like Murray State could be capped at five percent. President Randy Dunn says an increase in that range will help the university navigate these tough times. "If we can do that, we'll be in very good shape, set to go for next year, and continue our careful stewardship with the budget." University officials hold a public tuition forum next Tuesday at 2 o'clock in the Curris Center Theatre. Officials will also discuss the prospective increase with the Student Government Association. The CPE announces tuition increase limits April 28. Murray State's Board of Regents will vote on increases in May.
