Marion, KY – Flooding in Crittenden County is forcing people from their homes and disrupting traveling in and out of the county. Around 18 homes have been evacuated. Judge-Executive Perry Newcom says some major roadways in the north east and west are closed, limited access to the city of Marion. Newcom says localized sandbagging efforts continue, though the water has topped the barriers in some areas. A Red Cross Shelter is running in Salem for those seeking shelter. Newcom says the shelter was empty this afternoon, but he expects some people will go there tonight. Anyone trapped behind flood waters or is in need of flood-related assistance can call 270-965-3500.
