Murray, KY – Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway has filed a motion against Marathon Petroleum Company for alleged price gouging. The temporary injunction claims Marathon illegally raised the wholesale price of motor fuels when Governor Beshear declared a state of emergency for flooding on April 26. Conway says gas prices jumped nearly 30 cents overnight after the declaration. This is in violation of Kentucky's price-gouging statute. A hearing on the motion is set for Monday in Franklin County Circuit Court.
