Nashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam signed the "I Hate Meth Act" into law on Monday. The act contains many new regulations, some of which go into effect on July 1. A key part of the legislation requires pharmacies to track the sale of pseudophedrine, a major ingredient for the manufacturing of meth. The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reports a record 2,082 meth labs were discovered in Tennessee last year. Governor Haslam has also signed legislation that makes sure employees are legally authorized to work in the U.S. The measure is a weaker version of its original, which mandated all employers use the federal E-Verify program to prove their employees are legally in the country.
