Kentucky – Kentucky's unemployment rate fell last month below 10% to 9.8% for the first time since February 2009. According to the Office of Employment and Training, the national unemployment rate was 9.1% for May, up from 9% in April. Kentucky's manufacturing and business services sectors took the largest cuts with around 1,000 job losses each. The only sector that showed significant gain this month was leisure and hospitality sector with 700 additional jobs.
