Paris City Manager Issues Challenge in EMS Fee Spat

By Todd Hatton/Paris Post-Intelligencer

Paris, TN – Paris, Tennessee City Manager Carl Holder has sent Henry County Medical Center officials a letter he hopes will lead to a resolution of an ongoing dispute over $65,000 in fees for dispatching the hospital's E-M-S services. Holder informed city commissioners late last week he had sent the letter asking H-C-M-C administrator Tom Gee for a meeting to set a date for switching dispatch back to the hospital. The Paris Post-Intelligencer reports Holder stated in the letter he believed all avenues to a solution had been exhausted. He also said Paris Commissioners still maintain the city should collect a $65,000 fee for providing the service. Holder told commissioners if H-C-M-C delays setting a date for the switch, the city will pick the date and proceed accordingly. Hospital administrator Tom Gee has not yet responded to the letter.
