Paducah, KY – The Paducah Convention Center director accused of embezzlement had previously been fired for failing a drug test. According to a convention center board press release, former Executive Director Patrick Kerr violated the City's zero-tolerance drug policy in February of this year. He was re-hired after an Executive committee investigation determined that he had provided sufficient explanation for the violation. The board says after the incident Kerr was subjected to additional drug screening which had no abnormal results. The board is still investigating whether drug abuse led to the embezzling and Kerr's subsequent arrest.
