Murray, KY – Kentucky's Office of Employment and Training reports September jobless rates fell in 72 counties. That was a bit of good news in a state still struggling with an overall unemployment rate of nearly 10 percent. The agency reported Thursday jobless rates increased in 43 counties and stayed the same in five. Woodford County fared best with a jobless rate of just over 7 percent. Caldwell is among the other five counties below 8 percent. Fulton County had Kentucky's highest unemployment rate at over 17 percent.
