Murray, KY – Murray State University's Racer 1 and jockey Tim Busse suffered minor injuries during Saturday's game against Austin Peay. Following the first touchdown made by Murray State during the first quarter, Racer 1 lost her footing and fell on the second turn of the track. Busse reports the horse suffered a cut requiring staples. She will be able to be ridden again once the staples are removed. Busse suffered damage to his shoulder ligaments but no broken bones were reported. Busse and Racer 1 are both expected to make a full recovery.
