Paducah, KY – The McCracken County Fiscal Court is "strongly urging" the Humane Society to agree to new terms for their operations. The requests stem from an investigation into accusations of inappropriate euthanasia practices by a humane society employee. Some of the fiscal court's requests are for the seven day hold on animals for adoption to be extended to fourteen days or longer, a weekly animal health assessment by a local veterinarian, and round the clock access to the humane society for the County Animal Control. Also requested was the resignation of humane society director Shirley Grimes who has said she will resign at the next board meeting in December.
