Regional Winter Weather

By Gary Pitts

Murray, KY – Some far western Kentucky counties saw a great deal of snow this morning causing problems for motorists and highway crews. McCracken County Emergency Management Meteorologist Beau Dodson says an upper level low pressure system combined with low temperatures to produce a surprise snow system. That system has moved out of the area, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports roads are mostly clear. Dodson says this system preempts what is expected to be a very cold December though. He says temperatures are projected to be colder than normal, and the region could see more storm systems before the year is out.
