By Todd Hatton

Murray, KY – Kentucky officials say Cave-In-Rock Ferry has resumed service after shutting down Friday due to high water. The ferry crosses the Ohio River between Crittenden County, Ky., and Hardin County, Il. Highway Department spokesman Keith Todd says ferry operator Lonnie Lewis reported the river dropped more quickly than expected allowing the service to reopen Sunday morning. The ferry normally operates from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 7 days a week. The Cave-In-Rock Ferry is operated by an independent contractor with joint funding from Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
