Murray, KY – Metropolis officials voted yesterday to switch health insurance providers in the hopes the change would help alleviate some of the pressure caused by the city's budget shortfall. Two sitting aldermen were not present during the meeting however all officials in attendance voted unanimously to move from Blue Cross/Blue Shield to Mutual Medical. The switch between the providers will take place at the turn of the New Year. In previous meetings, Mutual Medical consultants have estimated annual savings for the city between $250,000 and $650,000.
