Lake Barkley State Resort Park holds Second Saturday Hikes beginning this weekend. The naturalist-led hike focuses on spring wildflowers and begins tomorrow morning at 10 from the lobby of the park lodge. The hike is free and reservations are not required. Sturdy, comfortable footwear is recommended.
Murray State University’s Animal Health Technology/Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club holds a Mutt Strut tomorrow morning starting at the corner of 15th and Olive streets. The event includes a 28 mile bike ride, a 5K run, and a 1 mile dog walk benefiting the Humane Society of Calloway County. The bike ride begins at 7:30, the 5K begins at 8:30, and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m. Race day registration is available.
Organist Mark Cain gives a recital at Immanuel Baptist Church in Paducah this Sunday afternoon at 3 in the church sanctuary. The program includes works by Bach, Gounod, Buxtehude, and others. Admission is free.
