'100 Veterans' - A Photographic Exhibit at Madisonville's Glema Mahr Center

Former Madisonville Messenger photographer Jim Pearson's 100 portraits of veterans who live in Hopkins County are on display through December 18 in the Madisonville Community College Glema Mahr Center for the Arts' Anne P. Baker Gallery. The exhibit opened on Veteran's Day. Kate Lochte  speaks with Pearson on Sounds Good about how the project turned into an exhibit and describes some of the subjects in the work.

The exhibit of portraits by photographer Jim Pearson titled "100 Veterans - Black and White Photographs of Hopkins County Veterans" is on display at the Madisonville Community College's Glema Mahr Center for the Arts through December 18. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during show nights.

Pearson says he is considering publishing a book of the exhibit photos, stories and multimedia gallery on his website.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
