Graves County High School has a new principal. The school’s site-based decision-making council named Alison Gregory to the position on Friday.
Gregory has served as principal of Symsonia Elementary School since 2013.
She replaces Matthew Madding, who is leaving to become superintendent of Graves County Schools on July 1.
Gregory has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western Kentucky University. She has served as assistant principal at North Hardin and Graves County high schools and Murray and Graves County middle schools.
She has worked as a career and technical education teacher at John Hardin High School and began her career teaching at Hendersonville High School.
She said in a release working in various levels of education, under multiple principals and different districts, gives her a unique perspective on student learning from K through 12.
