Police are investigating an alleged threat of violence towards a high school in north Tennessee.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday the threat was directed towards Clarksville High School and originated from a group chat on Instagram. Three students from the school have been identified and detained for questioning.

Sheriff John Fuson said this type of activity will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Public Information Officer Sandra Brandon said the campus will have increased law enforcement presence throughout Wednesday. She said the course of the investigation will determine whether it’s necessary to maintain the additional presence.
