A Kentucky lawyer said police have arrested his client and charged him with tweeting threats about the high school attended by Purdue football coach Jeff Brohm, who turned down the head coach position at the University of Louisville.

Attorney Ted Shouse told news outlets that his client, 29-year-old Thor Wiljanen, was arrested Thursday and charged with terroristic threatening after they contacted police Thursday morning. Shouse said the comment was never a threat but an attempt at humor.

Administrators canceled classes on Thursday after the tweets on Wednesday referenced burning down Trinity High School, where Brohm graduated.

Some took to Twitter to label the tweets as sarcasm, but St. Matthews Assistant Police Chief Tony Cobaugh said Thursday that in today's world, police have no choice but to take the tweets seriously.
