Neal Bradley and Tracy Ross talk Racer sports with a preview of the basketball season on Sounds Good.
Bradley says the Racer football team has matured, winning three games back to back. The Racers won against Eastern Illinois 40 to 38. They beat Tennessee State 38 to 31 with KD Humphries throwing five touchdown passes and a nearly 400 yard game. The Racers then topped Eastern Kentucky 41 to 28 with Jordan Gandy playing the third best receiving yardage game in MSU history. Bradley says the Racers are improving because they aren’t turning over the ball.
On Saturday, the Racers hosted Jacksonville State, ranked second in the country, and lost 15 to 33.
Bradley says this year’s basketball team is talented but the schedule is difficult. Returning players include Bryce Jones, Brion Sanchious, Gee McGhee, and Damarcus Croaker. Bradley says Terrell Miller, a great three-point shooter, and point guard Jonathan Stark will be valuable additions. He expects to see the team mature by the end of December or early in January. If the team turns out average they could win around 20 games, but Bradley says the have the potential to win more.
