[Audio] Puppies Sound Good: Meet Daisy

Credit Rob Canning, WKMS

Kathy Hodge of the Humane Society of Calloway County brings Daisy the Mastiff for a visit on Puppies Sound Good with Tracy Ross.

Daisy has seven pudgy, seven-week-old puppies. She is skinny from nursing them but Hodge says she’ll probably weigh around 80 pounds when she fills out. She has a sweet, gentle, slightly nervous temperament and is always ready to meet people. She also seems to enjoy bagels as she was lured into the studio with one.

With the holidays upon us, Hodge says many people decide at the last second to get pets as gifts, but that it is important to be mindful of all the things involved in getting a puppy before making such a decision.

The 2017 Pet Calendar is out. This year’s calendar features dogs, cats, a pot belly pig, and even a peacock. There is also an online auction running through Monday at 9:00 p.m. on forthepets.org as a fundraiser for the Human Society of Calloway County. Hodge says there are are more than 100 items to bid on that would make great gifts, including home décor, pet items, and at least 20 gift cards.
